The weekend was one of those crazy meant to be sort of happenings. I was dead in bed at 45 1st ave, Theseus sleeping above my head, Annah editing photos beside me….when we recieved a phone call from our friend Chaz, who had taken a spill on his board and needed bandages. The time was about 11:30p on July 2nd. We bandaged his hand and he told us a tale of a place where people fall from the sky where we could park our bus free of charge and play music into the night. Even crazier, Chaz’s friend who had invited us to join is a Bustin Boards fanatic and has been spreading longboard love among the skydive community for months. The craziest part of the story is his name is Grey Madder and Matt, Nick and I shipped his Orangatang wheels and bearings to him that day, discussing how bad ass his name was and wondering if it was real or if he was using it as a fake name.
All in all, Grey Madder hooked us up with a phenomenal opportunity to spread OverBored stoke and entertain hundreds of skydivers. The vibe was weak when we arrived because of a recent theft from the on grounds airplane hangar. We ousted the angst and provided the best party the sky dive ranch could ask for. We had a little run in with the owner of the ranch, Billy. He deciced we were a “freakshow” and he was not pleased we had set up camp on his land. We were close to getting the boot, but he just huffed, puffed and walked away.
We took the opportunity to gather our day supplies, round up the dogs (who were not really supposed to be there), closed up the bus and we escaped into the woods for the remainder of the afternoon. Discovering overgrown trails, secret spots, great hills to skate and killer views we frolicked and laughed the afternoon away.
At sundown we returned to the bus on July 4th and waited for the right moment, then started with a little Michael Jackson, Thriller. We slowly turned it up, then the enormous jet fueled bonfire was lit, then we blasted the full Mackie speaker system all the way till sunrise. We had an amazing 4th of July weekend…Annah, Erik, Theseus, Thaddaeus, Riff, Hawking and I, MIke Dallas.
The bus is prepared for the sickest adventure of a lifetime. The roof rack is up and galvinized and the best party platform/stage/ultimate camping machine ever. The crew is in shape, ready to skate. Hey networks, see this as an opportunity for investment and growth. We got us here, help us take it to the next level!!!

Travis and I are making final decisions on our route today, the ever changing route. Some say south, some north, others speak of venomous insects and snakes in the south, some speak of ever inclining planes in the north. All routes will encounter mountains to either move or climb and steep hills for days. The planning element of OverBored has been a struggle but fun.
I think it is time to grab a nice cold ice coffee from La Puebla and a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese before we get thinking. Leave us love if you have ideas!!! Ciao!
