I was recently in basel, Switzerland producing the Scope Art Exhibit adjacent to the renouned Art Basel Fair. Scope is a travelling collective of international art gallerists displaying current trendy contempory art created by today’s hottest artists. I was invited as part of the production crew scheduled to setup and teardown the entire Scope Basel event.
Wherever I travel, so does my longboard. I convinced three friends to bring their Bustin’s and we called ourselves the Strike Force. We were held up at the London security checkpoint and stripped of our boards. My friend Avalanche was even denied his seat on the flight and was delayed 5 hours until the next flight. Apparently European law is different, longboards in the overhead compartment is ILLEGAL!
Check out the hottest longboard connect on the Lower East Side in New York City at 1st Avenue and 3rd Street. Bustin Boards is hooking me up with gear to hook up the city with proper goods at an affordable price. Hoboken is near but convience is New York. Take the F and V train to 2nd Avenue or better SKATE to the barbershop, hang out with my homeboys, get a bad ass skater cut and get the freshest exclusive skate gear from the Rat Rod Gang.

Bustin Boards hosted NYC Green Skate 2009 on April 25th. The turnout was good and the day was sooooo sunny! i had to work at the Tribeca Film Festival all day but I did sneak away to bomb broadway with my homies. i skated north and at 23rd street the gang was bombin’ downtown. I 180′d and led the pack because I had fresh legs. They had completed 6.2 miles around Central Park then an additional 3 miles to where I intercepted them. We skated to the Brooklyn Banks and had a bomb ass time. Check out http://brooklynbarbarosa.wordpress.com/ for hot pics from the day.
This is good video that helps explain the different types of longboarding love. I have have not had the opportunity to meet the director but he is nasty on the ceviche. props, yo! have you tried the sojourn v2 yet? fun board.
My love for longboarding parallels this fellow’s love for the band, Slayer.
By popular demand I would like to give some background to a crazy experience.
My Amigo and I chose a beautiful summer morning for a personal rider biography. My camera man/ direrctor was going to follow me around for a day to capture the spontaenity of NYC skating dayz. Only minutes into an epic skate an SUV rolls up honking in blasphemy, then the driver barked out the passenger window, “faggot!”
HaHaHa, Ohhhhh man I was confused so I threw up my arms in reaction. The dude, who must have been roided and drunk out of his brains slammed his brakes and got out of his vehicle. My camera man recognized the situation and captured every second until he misjudged the sudden car stop and jumped off his board to avoid a collision with the stopped vehicles. His board rolled under two cars and to the feet of the angry man. This pissed the dude off and the guy started to assault my friend so I ran forward and knocked the dude over. Dude got maaaaaaad! I anticipated an ass beating so I split, because I know I am fast and agile. My board was on the ground and I was pushing full speed when I noticed this dude was charging faster than I expected. I had no option but kick my board behind me and run. The salty fella took a chance and tried to skate but instead busted his ass on the pavement. Much like a Pitt Bull a longboard will protect his keeper, as did my board that day. Look at the pictures…I was out, gone! No bullshit, I was not in Williamsburg to fight, I wanted to skate. Vulerable in my Rainbow Sandals I pushed the dude away from the camera man because the situation was intense and I ran because it was the right thing to do. Dude got banged up because he got served.
So….that day my camera man went to jail, the driver was an ex-cop and called in “officer down!” the calvary came, arrested my friend, seized his equipment and took him to jail. He was charged to the max bunk penality they could imagine but all charges were dismissed. The angry driver was charged with felony impersonating an officer. What goes around comes around my friend. Enjoy the still photo sequence and visit www.OverBored.org for the full video soon.
This race is dope.
This is a cool video of the energy following the 2007 Bomb. I raced in Rainbow Sandals and placed well with a pulled ass muscle. I;m wearing the orange South of the Border t-shirt in the vid, climbing all over the Bull (thanks Annah). Goodtimes.
