Jimmy’s crazy manuals
Check out my boy Jim’s bad ass manual skills. This was shot in Central Park at 110th st in Harlem. My boy Marc “Harlem’s Host” Rodriguez is the camera man. Jim, Marc and I became close during summer 2007. I was new to the block at 116th and Manhattan Ave and my roomates told me there was another skateboarder in the building. Dude turned out to be James. Across the street I spotted an entourage of boards and bikes and I had the opportunity to meet Host and his Harlem crew. The three of us have been training hard in the city since always challenging each other. Our skate brotherhood is something I am fortunate to have.
Tribeca Film Festival
New York City is hosting the Tribeca Film Festival again. Theseus and I are Producton Assistants to earn a few bucks for our skate in June. The days are long and tough but perfect for training. We skate to each location during the day and my legs appreciate the workout. Check out the Festival if you’re chillin’ in the city but if you need to contact me, call! My phone LCD screen somehow cracked and I cannot read txt.
PS. Go out to Bustin and put together some wheels and bearings or make 50+ Sticker packs if you have the chance…the guys could use the help while I’m away!
Fun Spot of the Week, NYC
The 4/12/09 NYC Rat Rod Assembly was wild. We had a good turnout and spent most the afternoon in Tompkins Square Park on the basketball courts. We had goodtimes sliding around and trying new moves. Trav and Brian Davenport took some hard spills making the afternoon climatic. A lot of blood, and we learned the importance of a helmet. After the session we skated over the Williamsburg Bridge to the Overbored Bus. We kicked it with Erik and Toni then busted up to my homeboy AJ’s spot to peep some fresh vids. Thanks to everyone who came out for the meeting.

NYC Slide Team

Check out some of our good friends in the city doing their thing. The location is called “Watchtower” located off the F train at the High St stop. The cluster of buildings surrounding the hill is home to the Jehovah’s Witness Headquarters and ”Watchtower” is posted big and clear on the top of the largest building. You will enjoy sweet views of the city from the Brooklyn river bank.
The hill is a good grade for controlled sliding, a local favorite for throwing down sick slides. Always remember safety first when sliding hills like Watchtower. There is a curb on one side and a row of parked cars waiting to destroy you, so slide with care!
